mini produce section at the butik
cute carrots and eggplant
look at those perfect lettuces! all grown there!
fit for royalty

cute onions.  and check out the mongo zucchini!

walk this morning

47 bus is suddenly the 69 bus.  i guess the summer bus schedule is over!  so i got on at my usual spot (bus driver: "47 is OVER; now 69. get on.") and i got off at a beautiful spot in djurgården.  then i walked til i found signs toward things i know, like rosendal.  so i have repeat pictures of rosendal, because it's so pretty. and the weather is especially amazing today---sunny, beautiful, cool, perfect...like yesterday, actually.

djurgården is like a dream come true!

shady paths, cute dogs, cool breeze
and everything looks greeeeen like this:
rosendals tradgard, part II:

i was just deliriously taking pictures of anything pretty
(everything!)
these are part of the organic flowers you can pick and take home
if you lived here

look, the path gets right to the water's edge!

scenic walk back

once again, i cannot do justice to the beauty of everything...
you have to come yourself

at djurgården you can walk along the water.
it's like an island of gardens.

Rosendal

this is part of Djurgården, the royal gardens, where they grow their own flowers, produce, everything, and you can purchase them at the shop---along with jams, muesli, baked goods, tea, honey...all made right there at the gardens.  (actually, i asked if they had honey, but the bees apparently were not productive this year, boohoo.  last summer i got some orange honey that was the best EVER!).  i went this afternoon.
btw, i'm sure i'll get over this taking-pictures-of-everything phase, right?  oh it's that impulse-control issue again; i feel compelled to take pictures of everything beautiful or interesting and post them.  i know it's only my mom reading, but that's ok.  i hope she enjoys!!  (and she knows i'm keeping out of trouble)

conditions are perfect!

yesterday went to rosendal, part of the huge beautiful expanse of djurgården with emi and fam, had the most delicious cookies --made-on-premises from their own grown-there ingredients!--lemon and almond cookies that are so pure lemon-tasting and outta this world.. there's a playground for the kiddies, beautiful flowers everywhere, greenhouse, even a wedding in progress later in the day--magical, magical, beautiful.
the day before i went with emi to pick up her kids and visit her on lidingö, i think that's how you spell...i had an amazing fresh delicious home-cooked meal (my first night! am i lucky or what) prepared by the Incredible Anders, and met emi's photographer friend from childhood in from london with her two adorable (yay, bilingual) kids.
today i must rush now to skansen, the swedish wonderland (fantastic outdoor museum, complete with real "SCANDINAVIAN ANIMALS." i am meeting emi and clan, and i hear the swedish are very punctual!
quick observations from previous 2 days (wait, is that all?) in stockholm:
--the swedes seem to all speak excellent english, very comfortable switching quickly to accomodate silly americans (moi)
--all cafes and even the hotel lobby here seem to have a selection of water, one pitcher with fresh cucumber, one with orange slices..it's like a spa everywhere
--tap water is delicious
more later, im going to be late..there is SO MUCH MORE
