yesterday was my half-birthday

which is my friend nicolae's birthday.  la mulţi ani draga meu!  Meriţi tot ce e mai frumos pe pământ!!  NOROC!!  i scribbled romanian phrases all over his gift, which might've given him more delight than the actual gift (no way: björn borg undies):

it was especially special for bica since romanian pianist/hero Radu Lupu was also here this weekend, and played a brahms encore (it was like a hallmark card, just for beeks)...

Romanians are so poetic, nu?  maybe a better example:

ma faci sa visez in culori! ("u make me dream in color")  awwwww....

then i went to amazing superbowl party.  i don't know anything about football, but it was an exciting game.  plus i liked the KIA commercial with the sock monkey (that was so good, wasn't it?).

i think nicolae is hanging out with mr. lupu right now.  i hear he's in town until wednesday or something. what is he going to do? i wonder.  practice, go to the casino?
